As a neutral, third-party mediator, I am nationally accredited under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) and observe the NMAS Practice Standards.
I facilitate a confidential and structured process that draws on consensus and mutuality to resolve workplace disputes. This technique is focussed on problem-solving, not blame, and provides terms and options to achieve agreeable solutions.
With a tactful and sensitive approach, I enable all sides in the dispute to be given the chance to share their view, making room for expression of feelings and the scope to constructively address substantive issues. It is less expensive and time-consuming than litigation.
We are both nationally accredited under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) and observe the NMAS Practice Standards.
The Mediation Process
- Overview of context – Please contact me to discuss the context of the mediation
- Preliminary interviews – I will organise individual meetings with each party in the dispute to identify key issues to determine the suitability of the matter for mediation. If mediation is determined to be unsuitable I will then recommend alternative options
- Mediation – The mediation process typically takes about four hours depending on the number and complexity of the issues
- Outcome statement – A confidential Outcome Statement that both parties agree on represents their shared agreement and action going forward will be provided following the mediation
